- Internet Config is a third party application that allows
- Internet applications to share preferences. If you would
- like more information about Internet Config or would
- like to download a copy, visit
- ftp://mirrors.aol.com/pub/peterlewis.

- Internet Config is optional, however, Internet Mail and
- News is optimized to take advantage of Internet Config.

- To setup Internet Mail and News without using Internet
- Config, choose Preferences from the Edit menu and enter
- your server settings in the Mail Server and News Server
- panels.

- The following steps will set up Internet Config to:
- ΓÇó connect to your mail and news server
- ΓÇó connect Internet Mail and News and Internet Explorer
- together so that when you click a mailto or a news link in
- Internet Explorer, or click the Mail or Newsgroups buttons
- on the tool bar, Internet Mail and News will open. You can
- also click on an http link in a mail or news message and
- Internet Explorer will open and display the page.

- To set up Internet Config:

- 1. Double-click the Internet Config icon to start it. You may
- get a message the Internet Config Extension is not installed.
- Click Install. You do not have to restart. Turn on Balloon
- Help for a description of each field.
- 2. Click the Email button and enter your e-mail information.
- 3. Click the News button and enter your news information.
- 4. Click the Helpers button.
- 5. Click "mailto-" and then click Change.
- 6. Click Choose Helper, select Internet Mail and News, and then
- click OK.
- 7. Repeat step 6 for "news-"
- 8. Repeat step 6 for "http-" BUT choose Internet Explorer as
- the Helper.
- 9. On the File menu, choose Save.
- 10. On the File menu, choose Quit.

- To set up Internet Mail and News:

- 1. Double-click the Internet Mail and News icon to start it.
- 2. On the Edit menu, choose Preferences.
- 3. Click Mail Server and make sure the ΓÇ£Get mail server
- information from Internet ConfigΓÇ¥ check box is checked.
- 4. Click News Server and do the same.
- 5. Click OK.

- To set up Internet Explorer:

- 1. Double-click the Internet Explorer icon to start it.
- 2. On the Edit menu, choose Options.
- 3. Make sure the Use Internet Config Settings check box
- is checked.
- 4. Click OK.
